To anyone who had the misfortune of witnessing the Democratic Convention in 1968, what has happened in New York last week is deja vu all over again. And the cause is the same: rotten domestic and foreign policy, which is at odds with the best interests of this country and the rest of the world.
This war in Iraq is no less stupid and senseless than the one in Vietnam (“my war”) was and is not worth the loss of one more precious American or Iraqi life. The sooner we change our rulers in Washington, the better it will be for us all and the world.
We need truly “born again” leaders who read a little now and then, have some sense of history and who pander less to wealth, power and privilege at the expense of life, liberty and justice everywhere.
