WINTHROP – Winthrop Grange 209 will observe Family and Music Night at its meeting Tuesday, Sept. 7, at the Grange Hall on Old Lewiston Road. The music program at 6:30 p.m., open to the public, will feature the Riverside Drive group.
A potluck supper at 5:30 p.m. will precede the program. Members should casseroles and salads; dessert will be provided. Family, friends and neighbors are invited.
A business meeting will conclude the evening, and a vote will be taken on a proposed change in the bylaws. The amendment proposes to hold only one meeting a month during January, February and March.
Robin Dow seniors
AUBURN – Robin Dow Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, at the Alden M. Gayton Post 31, American Legion, 426 Washington St. The board of directors will meet at 10 a.m. Bingo will be played after a bag lunch.
Seventy-six members were present at the Aug. 25 meeting under the direction of Vice President Merry Strout, in the absence of the president, Dorothy Larrabee. Kay Koss served as vice president.
Laura Green, Alice Lavallee and Charles Jones were placed on the honorary membership list in observance of their 90th birthdays, and Birdena Whittle was sent a congratulatory bouquet in honor of her 99th birthday and her recent return from Marshwood Health Care Facility to her home. Others having birthdays in August were recognized.
The bus for the fall foliage trip will leave at 8:45 a.m. Sept. 24 from the American Legion Post to Hart’s Turkey Farm in Meredith, N.H., Lee Koss stated. Anyone interested should contact Koss or Evelyn Sawin at Robin Dow meetings or phone Koss at 783-6396, Sawin at 998-4577. Cost is $43.
Attendance prize winners were Theresa Greenleaf and Jannette Breton; pot of gold, Donald Fyfe, Pam Carrier and Edwina Bonney. Bingo was played after a bag lunch.
Richelieu meeting
LEWISTON – Local Chapter of Richelieu International will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, at Rolandeau’s, 775 Washington St. Dominique Casavant will be speaker. Casavant taught in Algeria. He and his family lived in that African country for a few years. Members, friends and guests are invited.
Lodge session
AUBURN – Tranquil Lodge 29, AF and AM will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, at the Masonic Temple on Turner Street. All Master Masons are welcome.

AUBURN – Members of Danville Junction Grange 65 will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, at the grange. The program will consist of a planning session for next year and instruction for new officers. Refreshments will be served at the close of the meeting. All members and guests are welcome.

AUBURN – Twin City Council 140, United Commercial Travelers of America, will meet at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at the Odd Fellows Hall on Elm Street.
