BETHEL – Expansion plans for the Sunday River Brewing Co. will be presented to the Bethel Planning Board on Wednesday.

The plans will be considered as part of a preapplication review, according to the meeting agenda.

It is unclear whether the plans call for more seating at the restaurant and brewery, Planning Assistant Sarah Tucker wrote in an e-mail Friday.

The early plans submitted “are to significantly improve and expand the kitchen area, and to add a year-round BBQ deck area,” Tucker said.

Mark Sawyer, a partner in the Sunday River and Stone Coast Brewing companies, said Friday that the plans involve a new outdoor deck with a fireplace, as well as the addition of a smokehouse to the kitchen.

He also said a second bar is being proposed as part of the expansion plans because customers often have difficulty finding seats at the one bar in the restaurant.

On Wednesday, the Planning Board also will continue review of existing subdivision proposals. These include plans for:

• Farwell Mountain Estates, a 13-lot subdivision planned for Swan Hill Road.

• Mountain Valley Subdivision, a 14-lot subdivision planned for Taylor Smith Road. The issue of whether a buffer will be established between the subdivision and the property of junkyard and auto repair shop owner Geoffrey Gaudreau remains on the table.

• Phase Two of the Will View Subdivision on Will View Road, which would result in building 12 new lots.
