• Aug. 25 – Criminal mischief incidents were reported at two vacant apartments on Waldo Street. The buildings had been entered after doors were forced open.

• Aug. 25, 7:35 a.m. – A cell phone valued at $200 was apparently the only thing taken from a vehicle parked on River Street during a burglary and theft that occurred sometime on Aug. 24.

• Aug. 24, 5:30 p.m. – Police in Raymond, N.H., recovered a 1989 Chevrolet Baretta that was reported stolen from River Street in Rumford earlier that day. Inside the car were two juveniles, who were taken into custody, Detective Sgt. Stacy Carter said.

Carter said the keys were left in the vehicle. The car theft occurred sometime between 3:10 and 3:40 p.m. that day.

Officer David Bean is investigating the incident, which police believe is linked to the theft of a cell phone from another vehicle parked on River Street.

• Aug. 23 – A caller reported juveniles were attempting to break a picnic table at the DARE Park. The table had been damaged by youths on Aug. 20, but police had yet to catch them.
