PORTLAND – Maine Businesses for Social Responsibility announces a breakfast seminar focused on the business sense of mentoring. This event is open to the public.
Workplace mentoring is an explicit learning relationship between a person who wants to improve job or career skills, and a person who can help him or her do that. Workplace mentors take a position of high interest and investment in another’s development, and they share knowledge, encouragement, guidance and feedback about job content and organizational culture.
The seminar will be from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, at Maine Audubon Center, Falmouth. Susan deGrandpre, management consultant, is moderator. Panelists are Debbie Elliott, Debbie Elliott Salon & Day Spa, Mary Allen Lindemann, Coffee By Design, and Anne Moffitt, UnumProvident
Registration is $10 for members and $15 for nonmembers. Phone 338-8908 or e-mail, [email protected], or on the Net at www.MEBSR.org
The morning seminar will feature three very different types and sizes of businesses that have discovered the direct and side benefits of people teaching people in the workplace.
