PERU – A benefit supper and musical performance has been set for Sept. 25 at the Rockemeka Grange Hall. All proceeds will go into the Rockemeka renovation fund to help pay for new windows, paint and other improvements to the century-old structure.

Between 5 and 6:30 p.m., visitors will be treated to live dinner music as they choose from a wide range of menu items, including beans and hot dogs, homemade casseroles, salads and desserts. Sodas and coffee will also be available.

At 7 p.m., everyone will be invited upstairs to enjoy local talents Andy St. Pierre and Norman DeRoche play their folk/country style of acoustic guitar. Nonalcoholic drinks will be sold during the show. St. Pierre said the music will last “until we get tired or we’re chased off stage.”

Plans for this event have been in the works for some time and have included several local organizations, including the Families in Crisis Task Force, which is hosting the supper. Organizers also have tentative plans to do similar events in the future that may include talent shows and other acts.

Ticket prices for the supper will be $6 for adults and $3 for children, and will be available at the door. Tickets for the music show will be $5, but anyone attending the supper can purchase a ticket for $2. Anyone wanting to make a food item for the supper is asked to phone Shirley Dolloff at 562-7141 before Sept. 10.
