LEWISTON – Lots to Gardens will hold its Harvest Celebration from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, at the Knox Street Garden, 61 Knox St.

The public is invited to join and celebrate a great season and taste food made with harvests from the garden. The group also welcomes help with cooking ahead of time. Anyone wishing to help can call 753-6944 if they would like to help preparing for the day or if they need ingredients to make something.

Lots to Gardens is an organization that works to create a healthy community through gardens and green spaces and increasing ability to access and participate in local food systems.

Lots to Gardens volunteer opportunities for September include digging in the dirt, pulling weeds, picking vegetables and helping with other projects. Dates include the following:

• Wednesday, Sept. 8, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., Wood Street Garden, 161 Wood St.

• Thursday, Sept. 9, from 4 to 7 p.m., Knox Street Garden, 61 Knox St.

• Saturday, Sept. 11, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Hilltop Community Gardens, Hillview, Rideout Lane.

• Tuesday, Sept. 14, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., Blake Street Garden, 243 Blake St.

• Wednesday, Sept. 15, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., Wood Street Garden.

• Thursday, Sept. 16, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Meadowview Garden.

• Thursday, Sept. 16, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., Harvest Celebration, Knox Street Garden.

• Tuesday, Sept. 21, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., Blake Street Garden.

• Wednesday, Sept. 22, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.,Wood Street Garden.

• Thursday, Sept. 23, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Meadowview Garden.
