CANTON – Dominic John Catenaro, 81, husband of Irene D. Arsenault Catenaro of 402 Swain Road, died Friday, Sept. 10, at the Victorian Villa Nursing Home in Canton where he had been a patient for three months.
He was born July 9, 1923, in Bridgeport, Conn., the son of Gaetano and Grace Piccirillo Catenaro and was educated in schools in Connecticut. He was a retired inspector for the Carpenter Steel Co.
A resident of the greater Rumford area for the past 17 years, he was a communicant of St. Athanasius-St. John Church.
He was a member of the Rumford Aerie of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, where he served on the board of trustees for six years.
An avid pool player, Mr. Catenaro enjoyed playing cards and working at beano night at the Eagles.
He will be sadly missed by his many friends and nurses at Victorian Villa.
Surviving, along with his wife of 54 years, are two sons, Donald P. and his wife, Stephanie, of Rumford, and Michael A. of Los Angeles, Calif.; two daughters, Donna M. Bousquet of West Haven, Conn., and Priscilla Taylor and her husband, Thomas, of Fairfield, Conn.; eight grandchildren, Danielle and Jeffery Jr. Bousquet, Tommy Taylor Jr., Ashley, Brecke and Jenna Monaghan, Mary Ann and Michelle Terranova; three brothers, Alfred Sandor of Shelton, Conn., Ernest Sandor of Milford, Conn., and George Sandor of Bridgewater, Conn.; three sisters, Mildred D’Amico of Milford, Conn., Arlene Sandor of Florida, and Joanne Masselli of Bridgeport, Conn.; a special friend, his hospice nurse, Tamy Hadley; and family friends, Raymond Gilmor, Jeff Bousquet and Howard Goldberg.
