In response to Mr. Dench’s letter on Sept. 3, let me say that he is the one who is misinformed. Sen. John Kerry is proud of his service in Vietnam, but I do not believe he is “draping himself in the flag” as Mr. Dench suggests. He is responding to the bashing he is getting regarding that service by this administration. Although he has not released his complete service record, neither has President Bush, parts of his questionable service record have miraculously disappeared.

America does have the facts. It is this administration that is doing its best to keep them from the American people. Why hasn’t the major media called Bush to account for exaggerating his record and slandering his fellow veterans? The last straw was seeing Bush aboard an aircraft carrier draped in a flight suit making a mockery of every legitimate Air Force pilot in the military. If anyone has proven “unfit for command,” it is this president. It is long past time for a change.
