DIXFIELD – The second annual Bicentennial Road Races were held during the open market on Aug. 15 at the Village Green in the company of Bullrock, the local moose.

The race program was sponsored by the Open Market Committee and supported by contributions of equipment, water, food and raffle items.

Volunteer support that helped make the race successful came from friends and neighbors, Rumford/Dixfield Group Home and Rumford Area Interact youth, coordinated by Meredith Skibitsky.

Race results are as follows:

One-Mile Fun Run

Boys: first, Adam Mahar; second, Nick St. Germaine; third, Cody St. Germaine; fourth, Ben Hebert; fifth, Jared Arsenault; sixth, Sam Capone; seventh, Tony Capone; eighth, Matt Capone; ninth, Bryce Jones; 10th, Russ Jones.

Girls: first, Maggie Hebert; second, Coleen Hebert; third, Lisa Atkins; fourth, Anna Morrow.

5K Bicentennial Run



Women: first, Tina Meserve; second, Kate Kelly.
