CANTON – The SAD 21 Board of Directors is to discuss a resolution about the Palesky tax-cap proposal at 6:30 p.m. today at Canton Elementary School.

Other agenda topics include reports about school physicians, the school lunch program, a custodian realignment, weighted grades, updates on grants and laptops, educational technicians’ negotiations, and the Wellness Committee.

Under personnel action:

• Superintendent Thomas Ward has accepted the resignation of Cynthia Gould, a SAD 21 board member who represented Dixfield. Dixfield selectmen are to appoint another member at their meeting today to fill the remainder of Gould’s term.

• Ward has accepted the resignation of Pearl Snowman, an educational technician II at Dixfield Elementary School, effective last Aug. 16.

• Andrea York has moved from grade three teacher to kindergarten teacher, because enrollment warranted another teacher.

• Ward has accepted the resignation and retirement of Brenda Skillin, who worked in the library at T.W. Kelly Dirigo Middle School, effective Oct. 15.

• Jeff Turnbull, Dirigo High School athletic director, has hired Amy Druzba as varsity field hockey coach.

Directors must also vote to approve Ward’s recommendation of Jayne Arsenault as grade three teacher at Dixfield Elementary School to fill the vacancy left by the York move.
