Volunteers sought
RUMFORD – Volunteers are needed to help build the new garage at Black Mountain of Maine. People with building and carpentry skills are sought, as well as anyone wanting to help move materials, cut dimension lumber and pound nails. The project is expected to last through the fall season, and crew needs will vary from day to day. The crew leaders will not need the same volunteers all the time and would like to spread the workload. The old garage will be torn down to clear the area at the base of the ski slopes. The new 40-foot-by-100-foot garage on the lower side of the parking lot will house the grooming equipment, vehicles and mountain maintenance activities. Work schedules for the garage-raising will normally be half-day sessions from 8 a.m. until noon to minimize affecting family schedules. Occasionally, additional time may be needed. People interested in volunteering may call Dick Lovejoy at 364-2783 or e-mail him at [email protected], or call Paul Jones at 545-2671 or 562-7172.
