FARMINGTON – SAD 9 directors Tuesday will consider an interim plan for the technology center to cover for the director while he serves in Iraq.

The board will also discuss a request for a kindergarten education technician at Mallett School and consider a resolution related to tax relief.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, in the library at Mt.Blue High School.

Superintendent Mike Cormier stated in a memo to SAD 9 directors that he proposes Reva Merrill, the current student services coordinator and a certified vocational director, be appointed as interim vocational director at Foster Regional Applied Technology Center while the director, Glenn Kapiloff, serves in Iraq.

Cormier also is proposing that Sean Minear, culinary arts teacher, be appointed interim student services coordinator.

Kapiloff, of Farmington, a major in the Army Reserve’s 98th Division, 12th Battalion, based in Schenectady, N.Y., and his unit have been awaiting orders to go to Iraq since August to teach Iraqi soldiers.

Kapiloff’s last day at SAD 9 is Oct. 1. He’ll be called to service on Oct. 8, according Cormier’s memo.
