LEWISTON – Daveen S. Davin, 68, of Princess Drive, Sabattus, died Sunday afternoon, Sept. 12, at St. Mary’s Hospital, after a long illness.
Born in Lewiston, Dec. 19, 1935, the daughter of David S. and Evelyn S. (Scully) Shaw, she graduated from Sabattus High School, Class of 1953.
She married John P. Davin in Sabattus on April 17, 1955. She worked for Columbia Market and Food Town as a cashier for many years.
She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Post 135 for over 26 years. She enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage and liked to play all sorts of games, watching soap operas and loved spending time with her family. She also loved to take trips with John down to Florida.
She leaves her husband of 49 years, John P. Davin, of Sabattus; a daughter, Cathleen A. Webster, of Auburn; a son, Thomas J. Davin, of Roxbury; three grandchildren, Thomas J. Davin II, Randy J. Davin and Erin M. Powell; and three great-grandchildren, Isaac Peachey and Rashoen and Maliyah Powell.
She was predeceased by a sister, Jacqueline F. Stevens.
