OXFORD – Hosanna New Testament Church will host the Rev. E. Howard Anderson, a missionary/evangelist, at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, at the church at 109 Schoolhouse Road off Route 121 in the village of Welchville. Anderson has traveled and ministered in 40 countries around the world. He is a graduate of Central Bible College, Springfield, Mo., and Central Connecticut State University, and holds a master’s degree from New York University. After serving as schoolteacher and principal, he began his ministry with two years at Point Barrow, Alaska, the world’s largest and northernmost Eskimo village, and evangelized isolated Eskimo and Indian villages in the arctic. Stephens hospital sets blood drive
NORWAY – Stephens Memorial Hospital will sponsor an American Red Cross blood drive from 7 a.m. to noon Monday, Sept. 20, at the Ripley Medical Office Building Conference Room, 181 Main St. The Red Cross needs people to give blood to meet current shortages. Donors must be at least 17 years or older, weigh at least 110 pounds, have not donated blood within the past 56 days and be feeling well the day of donation. There is no upper age limit, and most medications are acceptable. For information or to schedule an appointment to donate, phone the American Red Cross at 1-800-482-0743. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are preferred.
