Poland Community Day was a day to remind us of those who serve and die for the freedoms we take for granted every day. That day was planned from the start to honor those people and to remember those who died on Sept. 11, 2001.
It was my feeling that those things needed to be remembered, as well as our God, who with his grace and mercy, has spared our country from many dangers and snares. But sometimes things are allowed to happen to wake us up to the plight that we face day to day, and many do not understand the reasons behind it and many of us never will.
I commend those who put their lives on the line every day to protect us. And protection we do need.
I wish to thank all those who respectfully honored that day of events and did not make it a political issue. It was a day to put aside political rhetoric and ambitions and get on our knees and thank God for sparing us, this time.
