CAPE ELIZABETH – April Lucas of Auburn and three other Inn By The Sea employees were honored as Stars of Their Industry at the second Maine Innkeepers Association recognition luncheon on Tuesday, Sept. 7.

Hosted by the Harraseeket Inn, individuals were recognized for outstanding contributions to the lodging industry.

Inn By The Sea employees received recognition in several categories of service. The inn’s food and beverage department, run by Susan Legge Events, was honored with an award for Lucas, who is the manager for Catering Sales.

Lucas, an Auburn resident, has been at the Inn By The Sea for eight years and was recognized for excellence in food service. Cited as being well respected and liked by the rest of the staff, Lucas has been successful at managing both corporate and social events at the inn. Lucas was also cited for establishing enthusiasm and staff camaraderie at the inn that results in the same students returning each year to the inn for the summer season.
