AUBURN – Dore’s Cafe and Market, 20 Union St., was the setting for a successful fund-raiser to benefit breast cancer awareness and research for the American Cancer Society.

The event was a Sunday brunch on Aug. 29, hosted by a team from the Olive Branch Longaberger home consultants, Karen Henry, branch leader; Pauline St. Clair, Lois Heikkinen and Cheryl Shank.

The group sold tickets, which included a Longaberger “Horizon of Hope” basket plus the brunch prepared and served by Dore Campbell, cafe owner, and Erin Sobodacha, volunteer for the day.

For the past 10 years $2 for each Horizon of Hope basket sold has been donated by the Longaberger Co. to the Cancer Society.

Many door prizes were given. Branch members donated their profits and collected Longaberger products for donations to the drawings and auction. A display of the last 10 years of Horizon of Hope baskets and a display of the new 2004-2005 products was set up.
