ANDOVER – The American Quarter Horse Association announces that the Maine Quarter Horse Association, in conjunction with Ellis River Riders, will host an association ride on Saturday, Sept. 25, at the Ellis River Riders facility. Overnight camping is available.

The ride will begin with a safety briefing at 9:30 a.m. and participants should pack a lunch. A barbecue will be held following the ride.

Pig roast held

RUMFORD – There was a large gathering for the Cameron for Senate Pig Roast recently. Approximately 120 attended the event on South Rumford Road.

The dinner raised campaign money for Rob Cameron, who is seeking the Maine Senate seat in District 14. A moment of silence was held for the 9/11 victims and families.

Other Oxford County Republican candidates in attendance were Sawin Millett, House District 95; Randy Hotham, House District 93; Paula Smith, House District 92; Arlan Jodrey, House District 91; Tom Windsor, Register of Probate; and Dave Duguay, county commissioner.
