In response to the Sun Journal editorial vilification (Sept. 19) of Edward Little High School Principal Jim Miller, perhaps it would be better for the community of Auburn if the displeasure were pointed in the right direction. If the editorial writer had bothered to talk to those involved, he would have known that the issue is not so much who said what to whom within the School Department, but how the city treats the School Department.

Why did the Drama Club props have to be moved anyway?

Why wasn’t the Drama Club invited to pay rent for the space it had before it was rented to someone else? Why is the city so eager to get the School Department out of Great Falls School? Why can’t the drama students from Edward Little have a decent space there? Why isn’t the city of Auburn trying to work with the schools and students instead of against them?

At the end of the day, aren’t we all supposed to be in this together, trying to make Auburn the best place it can be?

As a matter of fact, my tax dollars go to the entire city and should be used for all of us.

I work with Jim Miller at the high school and there is no one in the building who cares more about kids than he does.

The Sun Journal owes him an apology.
