WARNER, N.H. (AP) – Ten members of the University of Vermont rugby team face alcohol charges in New Hampshire.

State police arrested seven team members Saturday night and gave summons to three others after stopping them on Interstate 89.

Police said someone tipped them that people were drinking at the Hooksett rest area on Interstate 93.

The tipster said there were three vans with Vermont plates parked there and the occupants appeared to be under age.

Police said when they got to the rest area, the vans had left, but one of them was spotted later in Warner. Police stopped the van and arrested the occupants.

Police said they seized over 100 cans of beer, 12 40-ounce beer bottles and a bottle of liquor.

The underage suspects were released to their parents. University officials also were notified.
