BETHEL – An organizational meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, at the Bethel Democratic Office, 196 Walkers Mills Road.

Mackenzi Keliher, the field organizer for Franklin and Oxford counties, and Barbra Barrett, the Bethel office coordinator, will focus on how individuals may participate in the final weeks of the campaign to help get out the vote. Those attending should bring their calendars.

The group will be assigning specific tasks for all those willing to help with the effort. After the meeting there will be a party to watch the vice presidential debate.

Also, Donkey Tuesday, a fund-raiser for the Oxford County Democrats, will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, at the Locke Mills Legion Hall. Jan Kubiac of Albany Township and Arla Patch of Woodstock are organizing the event modeled on the legendary Turkey Tuesday, held annually in the same location just before Thanksgiving. There will be a lasagna dinner, silent auction and musical entertainment. Tickets are available at the Democratic office and at a variety of locations, including Caf DiCocoa in Bethel.
