LEWISTON – Ralph Emerson “Emmie” Stevens, 84, a longtime resident of Livermore Falls, died Wednesday, Sept. 29, at d’Youville Pavilion where he had been a patient for 10 days.
He was born in Farmington Nov. 6, 1919, the son of Ralph R. and Esther V. Stolt Stevens. He was a 1940 graduate of Livermore Falls High School, and married Wilma Sanford in 1949.
He worked as a machinist at the Record Foundry and Machine Company in Livermore Falls and Stowell-McGregor in Dixfield, retiring in 1982. He had worked as a security guard at Mt. Blue High School in Farmington for 15 years.
He was a member of the Livermore Falls Church of the Nazarene.
Mr. Stevens especially enjoyed automobiles and travel, as well as visiting with family.
He is survived by his daughter, Dr. Annie E. Stevens of St. Louis, Mo.; his former wife, Wilma Stevens of Canton; a sister, Margaret Dearborn of Auburn; two nephews, Danville Dearborn and his wife, Peg, of Wales, and Ralph Stevens of Farmington; a niece, Dot Maxwell and her husband, Jim, of Cornish; and a grand-nephew, Joshua Dearborn of Syracuse, N.Y.
He was predeceased by a brother, Lawrence R. Stevens; a sister, Anna E. Dearborn; and a nephew, Ken Dearborn.
