PARIS – The Board of Selectmen plans to have a special meeting at 6 p.m. Monday at Town Hall to discuss the hiring of an interim town manager.

On Monday, Town Manager Steve McAllister announced his resignation. His last day on the payroll will be Nov. 11, but he’s expected to leave beforehand as he uses up vacation time.

Selectmen held a special meeting Wednesday to discuss the hiring of a new town manager. The interim manager topic was discussed briefly, and Selectman Bruce Hanson strongly urged the board to consider in-house candidates.

Notices about the opening were given to department heads and stuffed into employee paycheck envelopes Friday.
