WEST PARIS – A calendar will be sold to help raise funds for continuation of the monthly mailing of packages to the six West Paris servicemen in Iraq. Area merchants are supporting the calendar project and the three Sunday bingo sessions.

The second bingo was held Sept. 19 with prizes and refreshments. The next bingo will take place at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, at the West Paris Town Office.

The afternoon will also feature a raffle drawing for a filled Longaberger basket, half cord of firewood, $50 worth of gravel products, a $50 Perham’s Maine Minerals certificate, a latch hook rug and a crocheted afghan. Tickets are available from any Troopette. The sale of calendars will begin that day.

The next packing party will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, at the West Paris Town Office. Those attending should bring the raffle money and any unsold tickets. Donations for the mailing may be made by calling 674-2114 or 674-2708.

In November the group will ship Christmas packages. Anyone interested in helping wrap and pack should call the above numbers for more information.
