FRYEBURG – The Fryeburg Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, at the American Legion Hall, Bradley Street. Refreshments will be served. The program will be “Local Civil War Heroes” presented by Jim Wilfong.

Extension meeting
FRYEBURG – The Fryeburg Homemakers Extension will meet on Wednesday, Oct. 13, at the Legion Hall, Bradley Street. Social time and coffee will be held at 8:30 a.m. followed by a business meeting at 9.
The program will be ladder rug hooking, demonstrated by Pat Foley. Arden Johnson will show how to make scarecrows from plastic bags.
There will be a potluck luncheon served by hostesses Phyllis Douglas and Francis Coombs, who will provide dessert and coffee. Members should bring money for the food basket. New members and guests are welcome.
Bridge results
NORWAY – Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge held a “No Bottoms” game on Oct. 1. Winners were Carol Curran and Suzanne Dame Andrews. They received only one zero score for the 27 hands of bridge.
In regular scoring the winners were: first, Pete Cummings and Dick Allen; second, Henry Deutsch and Woody Mercier; third, Don Johnson and Richard Balian; fourth, Carol Curran and Suzanne Andrews; fifth, Eleanor Griffin and Jim Dickens.
