LEWISTON – Students and faculty at the University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston-Auburn College will host an open forum Thursday, Oct. 7, for discussion of the Palesky property tax cap referendum.
Representatives from Tax Cap Yes and Taxpayers for a Fair Budget have been invited to discuss their opposing views on the proposed tax cap.
Two sessions of the forum will be conducted in the upstairs lounge at USM/L-A on Westminster Street. The first will be held at 2:30 p.m. and the second will begin at 4 p.m. The public is invited to attend either session.
The forum, designed to inform students and the community on the implications of the issue, also serves as an educational tool for students in the applied social policy courses at USM.
