LIVERMORE FALLS – Eldora Hastava, 76, of Moose Hill Road, Livermore Falls, died Saturday at her residence of natural causes.

She was born June 21, 1928, in Livermore Falls, a daughter of Edward and Annette Bernard Jacques. She received her education in Livermore Falls schools, graduated from Livermore Falls High School, and earned an Associates Degree from Central Maine Technical College in Auburn.

For many years, she was a hand stitcher and fancy Stitcher at G. H. Bass Shoe Co. She later was employed by the Department of Human Services, in the Lewiston/Auburn office.

She was a member of the Red Robbins Society in Livermore Falls/Jay, and was a member of the RCA Club.

Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, reading and working on crossword puzzles. She enjoyed playing Scrabble and challenging herself by watching the nightly television game shows Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved her house cat, Lacy.

She is survived by one son, Randy Hastava of Livermore Falls; one daughter, Jeri Hastava and her companion, Alan Fichtenholtz, of California; four brothers, Wilfred Jacques and his wife, Sharon, of Wilton, Rudy Jacques and his wife, Irma, of Bothell, Wash., Francis Jacques and his wife, Kay, of Clinton, and Donald Jacques of Livermore Falls; three sisters, Gloria Gilley and her husband, John, and Jeanne Wells and her husband, Al, all of Skowhegan, and Lorraine Pitman of Manassas, Va.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Richard and Eddie.
