LEWISTON – Daisy C. Plante, 92, formerly of Poland died early Tuesday morning, Oct. 12, at Russell Park Manor following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Munroe, Tenn., Feb. 22, 1912, the daughter of Cairl and Rose (Carter) Robbins.

She moved to Maine, early in life and married Sylvio Plante on July 2, 1949. While maintaining a full time job at Beal’s Laundry in Auburn she raised six children. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, quilt making, and crafts. She also loved animals especially her favorite dog, Mickey.

Survivors include her husband, Sylvio Plante, of Lewiston; two sons, Kenneth Stewart, of Poland, Clayton Phillips and his wife, Pat, of Mechanic Falls; two daughters, Barbara Healy, of Cromwell, Conn., Crystal Dionne and her husband, Don, of Lewiston; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by one son, Raymond Stewart, one daughter, Ruby Clukey, and one brother, Porter Ledbetter.
