NEW GLOUCESTER – Pineland Farms will host a Maine Winter Sports Center Master Skier Workshop on Saturday, Oct. 23. Greg Rawlings, Sports Center coach, will be on hand for a day of dry land training for master skiers. The workshop is designed for competitive female and male skiers who want to optimize pre-season training with dry land training techniques.

The program will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m. Cost is $25.

Craven appearing

NASCAR driver and Maine native Ricky Craven will making two appearances in Maine today.

VIP Parts, Tires, and Service will host Craven, a VIP celebrity representative, from 4-6 p.m. at the newly renovated Westbrook VIP location on Riverside Drive. The appearance will be the official launch of the annual VIP/Ricky Craven Charity Drive.

Craven has a 7 p.m. appearance scheduled for the Colisee in Lewiston, where the Lewiston Manieiacs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League will be playing. VIP is hosting a Ricky Craven Charity Night, another fund-raising forum for the Craven Charity Foundation.

The Craven Charity is a fund-raising source for The Marrow Foundation, Children’s Miracle Network, The Make A Wish Foundation, The Travis Roy Foundation, and Give Kids the World.

Softball tourney planned

WATERVILLE – A Softball Money Tournament will be held Oct. 23 at Waterville.

It’ll be a 1-pitch (1-3-foot arc), double-elimination event. Entry fee is $125. Cash prizes will be paid for first, second and third place.
