RHODE ISLAND – Idalette L. Montgomery, 73, of Kent Street, Cumberland, R.I., died Friday at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island, after being stricken at home. She was the companion of Rafael Costa with whom she resided for 26 years.
She was born July 17, 1931, in Freeport, the daughter of the late Luther M. and Ada May (Gurney) Seat. She has lived in Cumberland for the last 40 years. She had been employed doing private nursing for several years.
Besides her companion, she leaves a daughter, Darlene Bellfleur, of Durham; three sons, Charles Spier and Calvin Spier, both of Durham, and John Spier III, of Augusta; a brother, Howell Young, of Burlington, Mass.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
