AUBURN – Jay L. Smith, 35, died unexpectedly at his home Sunday, Oct. 10.

He was born May 8, 1969, in Lewiston, the son of Ralph and Elaine Smith.

He graduated from Edward Little High School in 1987, and Andover College in 1992, with a degree in accounting.

He was the general manager, on-site controller at Jack Ray Texaco, retiring in 2001, due to illness.

He was a member of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Auburn.

Survivors include his parents, Ralph and Elaine Smith, of Auburn; two brothers, Ronald Smith, of Auburn, and Kevin Smith, of Corbin, Ky.; two sisters, Kimberly Thorpe and Stacy McNulty, of Harrison; grandparents, Clive and Esther Towle, of Auburn, great-aunt, Ruth Andrews, of Auburn; several aunts and uncles; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
