I am writing this letter to the public to let them know what a selfless person Rep. Elaine Makas is.
Recently, she helped coordinate a community event in which former U.S. senator, disabled Vietnam War veteran and former Veterans Administration Administrator Max Cleland was the guest of honor.
She reached out to the community and made sure that veterans from World War II, Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf War and Iraq were aware of his visit, and she made arrangements for many of them to attend.
As a Vietnam-era veteran and current Togus employee, I truly appreciated the opportunity to meet him.
This is just one example of Elaine’s kind deeds, and I want to bring it to my community’s attention and publicly thank her.
