LEWISTON – On Thursday, Oct. 21, the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce will hold a brown bag discussion on how to get news from area businesses to the Sun Journal’s 37,000 readers through effective public relations. Carol Coultas, business reporter for the Sun Journal, will facilitate the discussion.

The discussion will be held at the Chamber, 179 Lisbon St, from noon to 1:15 p.m.

The Sun Journal makes space available for local businesses in its Noteworthy section. News items such as business openings, new hires, promotions and professional recognitions are covered in the Noteworthy section free of charge. The discussion will provide practical advice on submitting news, as well as the guidelines for Noteworthy submissions and tips on how to write and submit a press release.

Coultas, a journalist for 24 years, has been with the Lewiston Sun Journal for 18 years.

The talk is part of the Brown Bag Roundtable Discussion series that addresses a variety of business-related topics. No registration fee is required. Members are asked to bring their own lunch and to reserve their place by calling the Chamber at 783-2249.
