LEWISTON – Donald A. LaFontaine, 70, of Larch Road, West Poland passed away Tuesday, Oct. 19, at d’Youville Pavilion. He spent the last four years on dialysis.

He was born on Jan. 10, 1934, in Lewiston the son of Adolphe and Lucille (Jacques) LaFontaine. He married Marie Ramsey on Dec. 14, 1957, in Auburn.

He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Era.

He later had a long and dedicated profession in the local shoe industry, working for such businesses as Crest Shoe, Norway Shoe and Stride-Rite Shoe as a tacker. He enjoyed hunting and bowling.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Marie LaFontaine, of West Poland; daughters, Deborah Wright, of Chesterville, Diane LaFontaine, of Lisbon, Carol LaFontaine, of Harrison; sons, Michael LaFontaine, of Lisbon, David LaFontaine, of Lisbon, Dennis LaFontaine, of Arizona; sister, Muriel Breton, of Lewiston; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was predeceased by his parents.
