CANTON – Mildred Leona (Bowman) Stanley, 75, of Canton and formerly of Hebron, died in Canton on Oct. 18.

She was born in Hebron, Jan. 11, 1929, the daughter of Herbert and Daisey (Briggs) Bowman.

She was educated in Hebron schools and graduated from South Paris High School.

She had worked at local shoe shops much of her life, and was a member of the Hebron Community Church. She was an avid horseshoe player, and had an acute knack of knowing when people needed help and saw to it they received the help they needed.

She is survived by cousins, Harley and Glendon Briggs of Paris.

She was predeceased by her husband, Kent Stanley, and her brother, Donald Bowman in July of this year.
