BRYANT POND – Samuel J. Redman II passed away on Oct. 21, at his home, with his family by his side.

Born in Brownville, Jan. 27, 1925, to Floyd A. and Gertrude Parsons Redman, he attended school in Bryant Pond and graduated in 1943 from Woodstock High School.

Upon graduation, he entered the U.S. Navy and served his country faithfully until honorably discharged in 1946. He was a member of American Legion Post 68 in Locke Mills and the Finnish American Heritage Society of Maine.

He was married to Irene Heikkinen on Aug. 28, 1948. “Sam” retired from Gilbert Mfg. Co. in 1987.

Besides his wife, he is survived by daughters, Lorraine and husband, Allen Sinclair, of Lake Worth, Fla., and Susan and husband, Dana Gregson, of Lovell; son, Thomas, of Greenwood; a sister, Elsie Keane, of Dania, Fla.; and five grandchildren, Dan and Nicole Cross, Christopher and Diana Gregson and Michael T. Redman.

He was predeceased by a brother, Wayne O. Redman.
