NORWAY – Police arrested a 32-year-old Norway man for leaving the scene of an accident after his pickup truck crashed late Thursday on the Wiley Road.

Antonio Cerrato, 32, of 330 Wiley Road, was also charged with failing to report an accident by the quickest means. He was taken to the Oxford County Jail, where he was released on $150 cash bail Friday afternoon.

Police said an anonymous caller alerted them to the crash involving Cerrato’s GMC pickup truck at 11:50 p.m. There was no one around the truck when police arrived, but the caller reported seeing an injured Cerrato get out of the driver’s side of the truck and leave the scene.

Norway Patrolman James Ventresca went to Cerrato’s home, where Cerrato was in the living room. Ventresca said in his arrest report that he saw that Cerrato’s lip was cut and had been bleeding, and his clothes were covered in dirt.

Cerrato denied having been involved in the accident and said his truck must have been stolen, Ventresca said.
