RUMFORD – Rumford SeniorsPlus Dining Center, 50 Congress St., will hold its annual Halloween party at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 29. Guess the weight of the pumpkin and win a prize. Dress up in a costume and have a chance to win a prize. Bring in canned goods, two or more, for the local food pantry and take $1 off the cost of the meal. The menu will consist of corned beef, cabbage, potato, carrots, turnip, dinner roll, festive Halloween cake, punch and choice of coffee, tea or milk. A donation of $3.50 for those 60 and over, their spouses, disabled, and volunteers is suggested; $5 for those under 60. For reservations phone Kim at 364-3572.
Elks Lodge hunters breakfast
RUMFORD – The Rumford Lodge of Elks No. 862 will host its sixth annual hunters breakfast Saturday, Oct. 30. Breakfast will be served in the lodge dining room from 4:30 to 8:30 a.m. or until sold out. The menu will be scrambled eggs, homemade beans, homefries, sausage, bacon, homemade toast, juice, coffee and tea. The cost is $5 for all you can eat. Use the side entrance on Exchange Street.
Christmas program unveiled
RUMFORD – A new program at the Rumford SeniorsPlus Center is being organized by Kim Chiasson, who is seeking volunteers for it. Help is needed to sponsor a Christmas bag for local Meals on Wheels homebound seniors. A $5 donation will help with the costs of items to be put into the bags. The bags will be decorated by a class from Peru Elementary School. For information phone Kim at 364-3572.
Snowmobile meeting
MEXICO – The Mexico Trailblazers will hold two meetings per month, on the first and third Wednesday, beginning at 7 p.m., in the basement of the town hall.
ATV club forming
