FARMINGTON – Sandy River Players will present “An Evening of Vaudeville: A Sandy River Players Fundraiser,” at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, in Nordica Auditorium at the University of Maine at Farmington.

The presentation recaptures the classic variety show atmosphere of the early 20th century. Before a night at the movies became the standard Saturday night fare, vaudevillian performers would play before packed houses offering a mix of song, dance, comedy, drama and more.

Featuring performances by area musical groups Native Oak and Talisker and a host of local talent, Sandy River Players invites people of all ages to experience this tradition.

A shorter program will be performed on Friday, Nov. 5, at the Nostalgia Tavern in Kingfield, with the showtime to be announced later.

Doors will open 30 minutes before showtime. Seating will be available first-come, first-served. Suggested donations will be accepted at the door.

More information may be obtained on the Internet at the Sandy River Players Web site at www.sandyriverplayers.org, or by sending e-mail to [email protected]. Information may also be obtained by calling director Dan Ryder at 578-0357.
