FARMINGTON – A New Portland man pleaded guilty Thursday to sexual abuse of a minor and aggravated criminal mischief.
Robert J. Decker, 28, formerly of Livermore Falls and Wilton, was sentenced to three years in prison with all but one year of the sentence suspended for the aggravated criminal mischief charge, and three years’ probation. He was also ordered to pay $500 in restitution.
He was also sentenced to three years in prison with all but one year suspended and three years probation for the sexual abuse of a minor charge, to run concurrently with the aggravated criminal mischief sentence.
The sexual abuse of a minor happened between June 9, 2003, and Sept. 1, 2003, in Jay. The indictment states that Decker engaged in a sexual act with a teenage girl.
The aggravated criminal mischief charge is in connection with more than $2,000 in damage done in July at E and N Variety on Main Street in Wilton.
Decker and a co-defendant were accused of recklessly damaging or destroying a compressor, wiring and windows at the store.
Decker initially was indicted on the aggravated criminal mischief charge, and for burglary of a motor vehicle and attempted burglary.
The latter two charges were dropped in a plea agreement.
