PORTLAND – Tex-Mex folk singer Tish Hinojosa will return to the Center for Cultural Exchange at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3. Accompanying her will be Austin-based instrumentalist Marvin Dykhuis.

Hinojosa initially gained recognition for her bilingual writing on the virtues of human resilience. As one of 13 children in a Mexican-American family in San Antonio, she was hearing traditional Mexican music and the music of ’60s pop bands a girl.

Hinojosa has been busy with her constant touring and the recent release of both a 15-year retrospective, “The Best of Tish Hinojosa Live” and a Christmas recording, “From Texas for a Christmas Night.” Her evening concert follows an educational matinee performance for local youths, highlighting her bilingual songwriting.
