Norlands event
LIVERMORE – Kerck Kelsey, a Washburn descendant, will be at Norlands at noon Monday, Nov. 1, to speak about his new book, “Israel Washburn Jr.: Maine’s Little-known Giant of the Civil War.” Kerck’s presentation will be followed by a book signing, and the book will be on sale. Breast cancer
FARMINGTON – The next meeting of the Franklin Memorial Hospital Breast Cancer Support Group will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, in the Allen Room at Franklin Memorial Hospital. The support group is for women who have or have had breast cancer. It is a free service of the Martha B. Webber Breast Care Center. Each meeting features presentations of special interest, as well as a time of sharing personal experiences and concerns. The November discussion will be titled “Intimacy and You” and led by Beth Bacon, a certified breast prosthetic fitter. WILTON – The Wilton CareerCenter will offer another session of Essentials of College Planning from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 2, at the center at 865 U.S. Route 2. Fall Follies tickets
FARMINGTON – Tickets are now available for the Farmington Elks Lodge and Farmington Emblem Club’s annual Fall Follies Variety Show and Dance. A dress rehearsal will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, and the show will be presented Friday and Saturday, Nov. 5 and 6, at the Elks Lodge in West Farmington. Doors for the show will open at 6 p.m., with Steve Bull serving as DJ and MC. A $10 donation is requested for all three shows. Blues performance
FARMINGTON – Stephen Levine and Don “Fatty” Emery will perform classic blues music from the 1930s, as well as more modern blues music inspired by Depression-era blues, at the Wednesday Noontime Concert to be held from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. in Nordica Auditorium at the University of Maine at Farmington Wednesday, Nov. 3.
