BETHEL – Little action was taken on a series of subdivision plans considered by the Bethel Planning Board on Wednesday.
All four of the applications require permits or reviews by the Department of Environmental Protection, Planning Assistant Sarah Tucker said.
The Mountain Valley subdivision off Taylor Smith Road was granted final approval with conditions. The Planning Board has requested the DEP and the Oxford County Soils Commission first review the subdivision stormwater management plan, Tucker said.
A second phase of development for the Will View Subdivision, Will View Road, also requires DEP review, Tucker said. A Natural Resources Protection Act permit will be required for the subdivision.
Such permits are required when large bodies of water or wetlands may be affected by development, Tucker said. The permits also will be required for the Mountain Brook Estates subdivision, Chandler Hill Road, and the Paradise Pines subdivision, Paradise Road.
Tucker said the board on Wednesday gave pre-application advice to Kate and Jonathon Goldberg, who have plans to move and expand True North Adventure, an outdoor outfitting shop.
In addition, the board considered a site plan application for a new, two-story commercial building proposed for a site at 103 Main St. A public hearing on the project was scheduled for 6 p.m. Nov. 10.
Tucker noted that the Planning Board will have only one meeting in November due to the Thanksgiving holiday. However, two meetings will be held in December despite the Christmas holiday.
