LEWISTON – Andrew Simon, field coordinator for the Republican Party office on Lisbon Street, was alone there at 1:30 a.m. Monday when a brick was hurled through the glass front window. The brick landed about 10 feet from Simon.

“I was at my desk doing some work; I heard a big boom,” Simon said. “I thought it was a gunshot. I grabbed my cell phone, ran in the back and called 911.”

Thirty seconds later, Simon went from the back to investigate. Four Lewiston police officers were soon on the scene, but no one was stopped or charged in connection with the incident.

“I’m not worried about finding the guy who did it, but it’s scary,” Simon said. “We have volunteers in here all the time – kids, seniors.” Police won’t be able to get fingerprints from the brick because it is too porous, Simon said.

It will cost $300 to replace the window.
