LEWISTON – Germain A. Desaulniers, 78, of Old Chadbourne Road, died Monday, Nov. 1, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

He was born at St. Matthieu, P.Q. Canada, July 17, 1926, the son of Gilbert and Leonie Auger Desaulniers. He was married June 25, 1949 to Laurette Turgeon.

He was a self-employed farmer and his life and his hobby was farming and the care of his horse. He was a member of Holy Family Parish.

He is survived by his wife, of Lewiston; two daughters, Louise Madore and husband, Raymond, of Lewiston and Gaetane Gonyea and husband, Arthur III, of Scarborough; four grandchildren, Elaine Johnson and husband, Aaron, Michelle Chessie and husband, Andrew, and Nicole and Matthew Gonyea; a great-granddaughter, Gabrielle Chessie; two sisters, Simonne Lemieux and Jeannine Cote and husband, Marcel, all of Montreal, Quebec; and three brothers, Armand and wife, Jeanne d’Arc, of Shawinigan, Canada, Ernest and wife, Jeanne d’Arc, of Grand Mere, Canada, and Louis George and wife, Therese, of St. Boniface, Canada.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Anita and Gabrielle, and three brothers, Aime, Henri and Alcide.
