• Oct. 23, 4:40 p.m. – A Mill Street resident reported that his bicycle was stolen during the day from outside a Weld Street business while he was inside. The bicycle has since been recovered, but the incident remains under investigation.

• Oct. 23, 9:30 a.m. – Two mailboxes were stolen, one from a Blayne Street resident, the other from a Nova Street resident. Each was either hand-painted or hand-decorated. Patrolman Mark Dow, who is investigating, asked for help from anyone who might have observed any suspicious activity or persons in the area overnight from Oct. 22 through 23.

• Oct. 23, 11 a.m. – A SAD 21 mechanic and bus driver reported that a bus was vandalized overnight.

• Oct. 20, 1:30 p.m. – A fire extinguisher was reported stolen from Elsemore Estates on Third Street.

• Oct. 20 – A Third Street resident reported that someone has been peeking in her windows for several days. Police are expected to be patrolling the area for any suspicious people or activity. Any resident observing suspicious activity is encouraged to contact police at 562-4517.

• Oct. 20, 8:10 a.m. – A Dirigo Middle School employee reported that the soccer field had been vandalized.

• Oct. 18, 6:15 p.m. – A Canton Point Road resident reported a suspicious vehicle parked in the woods along the road. Patrolman Jeffrey Howe investigated the vehicle and determined that it had been reported as stolen in Wilton around Memorial Day. Wilton police recovered the vehicle.

• Oct. 18, 6 p.m. – A Third Street resident reported that a youth was believed to have a stolen bicycle.

• Oct. 18, 4:15 p.m. – A Main Street business clerk reported harassment by a customer.

• Oct. 17 – Vandals struck on Weld Street between 3 and 4 a.m., smashing pumpkins and taking down political signs and throwing them into the street. Police responded to reports of several young people being in the area, but were unable to locate anyone on the street.

Summonses

The following are to be arraigned in January in Rumford District Court:

• Oct. 22 – Pamela Bryant, 49, of Dixfield, on a charge of a junkyard/automobile graveyard violation issued by Dixfield code enforcement officer Jay Bernard, “because of a collection of unregistered vehicles and other hazardous or nuisance items.”

• Oct. 19 – Philip Smith, 31, no town listed, on a charge of operating after suspension on Route 2.
