AUBURN – A teenage driver and his two passengers were taken to the hospital Tuesday after the car they were riding in hit a tree.

George Black Jr., 17, was driving a 1988 Toyota on Lake Shore Drive when the car went off the road and hit a tree around 11:40 a.m. He and passengers Kristi Logan and Kristen Sullivan, both 15, were taken to the hospital. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Police believe driver inattentiveness caused the accident.

Police estimated damage to the car at $6,000.
