BUCKFIELD – Judy Weeks, a special education teacher at Buckfield High School, wanted the school and community to recognize veterans in a special way.

She, along with the student council and the honor society, have arranged a special day to honor veterans, service men and women and their families on Wednesday, Nov. 10.

A welcoming coffee hour in the school library from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. will be followed by a flag-raising by Buckfield’s American Legion Post 58.

Then, participants will assemble in the gymnasium, where all branches of the service will be recognized by music. There will be a PowerPoint presentation showing past and current veterans.

The speaker of the day will be Wayne Gallant of Rumford, a Vietnam veteran.
