LEWISTON – Dennis E. Haddon, 70, a resident of Main Street, Monmouth, died surrounded by his family, Saturday, Nov. 6, at Central Maine Medical Center where he had been a patient.

He was born Nov. 28, 1933, in New Haven, Conn., one of 10 children to Ray and Marcella “Lillian” (Tomasi) Haddon. He was educated in the Connecticut school system.

He worked as a self-employed mechanic. He enjoyed working on cars, drawing, making inventions, helping people and especially loved the time he spent with his grandchildren.

His wife, lifelong companion’s favorite name for him was “Fuddy Duddy.”

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Knoll-Haddon, of Monmouth; six daughters, Kimberly Haddon and her companion, Jeremiah Jones, of Lewiston, Lynne Zeigler-Haddon and her companion, Larry Clukey, of Lewiston, Bonnie Caron and her husband, Daryl, of Auburn, Denise Allen-Haddon and her husband, Richard of Westbrook, Diane Burdin and her companion, Matthew Jordan, of Farmington and Debra Haddon and her companion, Elias Smith, of Waterboro; two stepsons, Scott Knoll, of Lewiston and David Knoll and his wife, Jackie, of Warren; seven grandchildren, Nadine “Papa’s Angel” Jones, Ethan “Bubba” Jones, Elijah “Papa’s Little Guy” Jones, Savanah ” Papa’s Blondie” Merrill, Marcus “Mr. Whipple and Dr. Marcus” Haddon, Alexandra “AJ” Allen and Richard “Wooby” Allen; a brother, Robert Haddon; six sisters, Alice Malaro, Helen Davis, Ella Longo, Vera Candella and Mary-Lou Niles, all of Connecticut, and Ethel “Dippy” Cobb, of Maryland; a special niece, Judy Haddon, of Arizona; and his very good neighbors, Joe and Joann Turbide and their family.

He was predeceased by his parents, a daughter, Kimberly Haddon in 1977, a brother, Raymond Haddon, a sister, Leona Reinwalld, and his beloved dogs, Zackary Smith and Mitsubishi.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Jennifer and Carrie his nurses at dialysis.
